Biography
Dr. Rakan Chabaan is a Research and Controls Specialist at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles since October 2011. Previously, he was the chairman of the Electrical Department in the College of Engineering and Associate Professor at PMU. Dr. Chabaan received his Ph.D. in robust control system from Wayne State University in December 2000. Dr. Chabaan worked at Ford Motor Company Michigan, USA for 14 years, where his last position was a Technical Specialist of Research and Development of Electrical Steering Systems. Dr. Chabaan received 14 patents in Electric Steering and Vehicle Simulator controls. Dr. Chabaan has published more than 50 peer reviewed papers both journal & conferences and received over Five achievement and technology awards. Dr. Chabaan worked as Chairman and Associate Dean of Electrical and Computer Department at university of Kalamoon. Prior of joining PMU, Dr. Chabaan was an Associate Professor at Lawrence Technological University. Dr. Chabaan is a member of several organizations and associations such as IEEE Control System Society, Communications, Robotics, and Society of Automotive Engineering.
Research Interest
Dr. Chabaan main research interest is System Identifications, Dynamic Modelling, and Powertrain Controls.
