Biography
Professor Mike Blundell is internationally known for his work on vehicle dynamics and crash simulation. He has been at Coventry University since 1991 and has over 30 years of experience in academia and industry. Prior to joining the University he held a number of posts with companies and institutions such as Boeing. His activities continue to be diverse but he is most well known for his work in the automotive design areas that encompass vehicle dynamics, tyre modelling, vehicle structures and crash and pedestrian impact. He has also worked nationally with the Niche Vehicle industry and on major European projects investigating helicopter crash protection. He is the co-author of the vehicle dynamics text book “The Multibody Dynamics Approach to Vehicle Dynamics†and has more than 130 academic publications. He is currently Associate Dean for Enterprise with the remit to drive the external business and research activities for the Faculty.
